Time will tell if I made a mistake. It was a case of a long drive, last day of the offer, extra incentives etc.I got a 5% vets discount,$50 off sale,$25 new Cabelas credit card credit.,$25 Cabelas bucks after 5 purchases elsewhere and a free multitool.Oh yeah, a hat. I did not buy ammo there.I'll get it cheaper locally. My total was 182.00 including tax..The incentives pushed me over the edge.Any body know what these guns are worth used?(Ruger LCP .380 first model)

I've had the original LCP for about 5 or 6 years. It sat for years until I finally decided to try it probably 6 or 8 months ago. It shot okay if you can handle the terrible trigger. It's not the most pleasant gun to shoot. What bothered me was my trigger finger after dealing with that 35lb trigger pull LOL.
I just wanted something to slip in my pocket just in case. About a month ago I got the new LCPII. Big difference but it had problems. I got it back last Friday from Ruger. A few of us found that the triggers have a tendency not to reset, the trip back to Ruger seems to have fixed that. From the time Ruger received it until it shipped back was exactly one week so that wasn't to bad.
I was also having a problem with it extracting the live chambered round.
After getting it back and Ruger said nothing one way or another about the extractor. I got it back and it did the same thing. I had it out this AM when I found if you work that slide like there's no tomorrow it will extract the live round. I worked the slide as hard and fast making sure it went as far back as I could and it finally did extract that live chambered round. Other guys commented about this same thing on the one Ruger forum.
I've never in all my years and dozens of guns had to work the slide like I had to extracting a live round from the chamber. I can live with it now that I know what the deal is with the extractor.
My feelings about the gun in general. It's perfect for what it's designed to be. I carry it in a Talon Wallet Holster. It slips in your rear wallet pocket and you don't even know you have it. I sit on it when I'm driving .I carry it and my Sig almost every place I go. My Sig is a P 938 I carry in a IWB and this LCP works perfect for slipping it in the wallet pocket.

Even though the LCPII is a hair bigger it fits this wallet holster ALMOST perfectly. The back of the holster where the holster is cut to follow the contour of the back end of the slide sticks up maybe a 1/4" which is no big deal.
