ruger light weight 3006 picked up

went to a auction with a friend as he was interested in a few ruger # 1,s and i bought this 3006 light weight 77 ruger (red pad). i shot a three shot group at 100 yards(about three inches) with the open sights with my favorite load of 57 grs imr 4350 and 165 nosler bullet. i think a low power scope(4x leupold) it will do 2" or lower. and my friend bought a ruger #1B in .257 roberts(red pad) in ex condition for 1075.00

I think a 4x leupold would be perfect for a gun like that. I've always fancied a ruger no.1 and been a fan of 30-06. Nice snag!

My brother had that exact rifle at one time. I had the 20" clean barrel version. Beautiful rifles, but accuracy was mediocre at best.
