My bolt failed to close with a round due to the ejector not compressing enough to allow the casing to sit flush against the bolt face. I removed the ejector retaining pin, spring and ejector. The spring was heavily rusted. I cleaned and lubricated all parts but I can't figure out how to reinstall the parts. Trying to push in the ejector far enough and then drive in the retaining pin is easier said than done. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you much! I will try that and let you know.

One more thought!

Make absolutely positively sure the ejector pin will actually freely go all the way down the hole without the spring in place.

If there is still rust scale down in there and you compress it with a clamp and it gets stuck?

Lets just say you won't be able to get it back out!

And you won't think much of my advice!

Thanks, I just tried it, the ejector freely slides in and out.

RC,
Your idea worked great. I used a bolt and a cabinet door clamp. That problem is solved, the cartridge now sits flush to the bolt face...however, the bolt still does not rotate completely when chambering a round. It looks like the extractor may have a burr where is contacts the casing. Any ideas on how to remove the extractor??

Never mind, I don't think that is the problem. At least I know the cartridge sits flush now. Thanks RC.
