I'm thinking about bidding on a Ruger Mk II 5 1/5 inch slabside barrel. I'm concerned about the visible wear to the area below the extractor. See picture. Is this normal wear?

What should I expect to pay for a Mk II 5 1/5 inch slabside in mint condition with box, papers and two original mags?

I don't know much about these pistols, any help is appreciated.

What wear? Not seeing any. I have the MKII 5.5" bull barrel and it works awesome. The trigger isn't the best, but once learned it is easy to bounce a soda can from 25 to 50 yards with ease.

The area right under the extractor that looks like it might be flaking.

Not sure what to make of that mark. If the gun is in mint condition it shouldn't be showing that much wear on the bolt. Is it possible to get a better photo (i.e. more of a close-up), of that area from the seller before you start bidding on it?
My Mk.II doesn't show any kind of wear like that and it's over 30 years old with quite a few rounds through it.

Normal to me.
That model is my favorite Ruger mk pistol ever built. It is only one I would let my stainless government target model go for.

I have half a dozen of he MK II's and that looks like normal wear to me. Obviously not mint though. I find that after 200,000 or so rounds that the firing pin will peen over at the hammer end and need to be replaced though. Mine are all good accurate shooters and there are many aftermarket parts available for them. The most I paid was $200 for a SS 5 1/2 inch BB one but that was about 15 years ago.

A little brass polish (e.g. Flitz or Brasso), some rubbing, and that bolt will be bright and shiny for months and months to come.
