I just bought a Ruger mk III on Friday. Took the it out to the range twice this weekend -- the first time, I put about 400 rounds through it, at both 7 yards and 15 yards. At 7 yards, I typically stayed in a 5" diameter -- but at 15, though I was clustered around the target I was aiming at, less than half the rounds went through the bull's eye.
Sunday, went again, paper target consisting of six ~4" circles. I put 50 rounds on each circle, alternating between 7 yards and 15, and brought the target back after every ten rounds to evaluate how i was doing. I did see the groupings tighten up from the first to the sixth attempt -- by the last circle, I was shooting nearly as well at 15 yards as I had on the first circle at 7.
Then I switched to the Glock 30 to try 50 rounds of .45 at 7 yards.
Major suckage, most rounds were low and very slightly left -- I am jerking the trigger. If anything, it's gotten worse since the last time I shot with the .45.
I suppose I will need to shell out $$$ for a class at the range to try to learn to overcome it, because individual practice only seems to be reinforcing bad habits. :banghead:
