I recently picked up an absolutely fabulous ruger mkii government target model that had gone for volquartsen for parts and trigger job. (has VQ trigger, hammer, sear, bolt release) it's wonderful. But the bolt's much harder to cock on the new gun than on my other, older mkii. The mainspring housing is more difficult to open too. I assume that means the mainspring is an extra power spring. If so is there any particular reason I should keep it, or could I switch it back to stock or even a lighter spring? (Light primer strikes are the only reason I could come up with for a heavier spring)
(Mods, I don't think this belongs in gunsmithing, but if it does, feel free to move it)
