I guess it’s a flambé load then, no pressure signs on the primer or case???

No burn ever. Not even once. Everything from 22 through 44. And I have big hands. I guess the index finger knows its limitations pretty well.

I’m scared, seen it done, but I will give it a go next time with .38 HBWC 3.1g HP38 load! nice and lite

Big paws holding a 5-shot SP-101.

I personally hold my right thumb over my left, it doesn’t get near enough to the B/C gap to torch my digits even with my J frames.

But shooting styles are as unique as the watches people choose, so if the above grip works don’t worry about it.

Once I rested the barrel on my left forearm with my 1858 Remington. Ruined my shirt and left a mild burn. Lesson learned.

I have been shooting W231 out of my new (to me) .44 magnum and am very disappointed with the lack of fire.

I guess I'll have to load some with H110 to scratch that itch.

Mark - speaking of grip style, when shooting my GP-100 4", I cup my left (weak) hand under my right so that the left thumb (what's left of it - table saw)and the palm swell under the thumb covers the bottom 3 fingers of the right. The left little finger and "ring finger" curl up under the outside (bottom) edge of the right.
