I won't hold your breath either.
Buy whatever you like, don't buy whatever you don't like.

The analogy was simple, valid, and should be easily understood.
It did not refer to pricing, it referred to construction & features in terms I thought anybody could relate to.

The thing is, the SR9 has more than proven itself. Top rated gun for years by some of the best and thousands of fans. To just say it is better is not proof. Let the SR9 have the due respect it deserves. Let's see how well the RAP proves worthy down the road. I respect your opinion, just disagree or just not sold. Time will tell. I would be interested in why the gun does not seem to sell well and is even under the Price of the SR series or about the same price. It would seem that a much superior gun would go for more. Maybe folks just do not want a duty gun, the weight etc.
Probably is not the right comparison to even make. There are a lot of nice guns available. Many duty pistols comparable to the Ruger American and seem very competitive like the Sig 320 which appears to have robust sales. Maybe we can get someone to compare them side by side with each part and with Pics.

And bravo to the many dedicated fans of The SR9 Series and Bravo to Ruger. I sincerely hope the RAP can enjoy the same loyalty down the road. Noting like the test of time.

Its my opinion that the U-Tube Drive By Negative Reviews of the RAP were unwarranted. Negativity drives the number of views thus cash flow. There is a article in the Nov-Dec 2017 issue of Combat Handguns that compares Glock 21 Gen4, Ruger American Pistol, S&W MP M2.0, and Springfield XD 4.5" . The article captured my attention because I am a land share owner member of PHA where the testing was conducted.

As for myself I am not a Ruger person but I decided to acquire a Ruger RAP9 that I've fired extensively thus compared to my examples of the Glock G17 Gen3 and the S&W MP9. With 9 months of experience and a round count in excess of eight thousand plus rounds fired the negative U-Tube reviews were BS.

My experience with the RAP9 being positive, I acquired a RAP45. The RAP45 as proved to be exceptionally durable and on par with my example of the Glock G21 Gen3.

I was never really a Ruger semi-auto fan. My wife first picked up the LC9 for concealed carry, but when we started taking classes together, she really wanted a double stack. She's shot just about everything I own (Glock, HK, Sig, Steyr, BHP, and XD), but she didn't like any of them...so off to the LGS to see what else she could try. As soon as she put hand on and rounds down range with the SR9c, she fell in love. As mentioned, there were issues; I removed the magazine safety and upgraded the striker assembly and it's been flawless for her. I did try out the American and there is no doubt they built it as a service handgun. Still, for CCW, the SR9c has proven excellent value for the money and even a better deal if it fits your hand. I will admit the stock trigger on my wife's SR9c is excellent.
