Ruger SR9 vs. S&W Sigma 9

Sigma and Taurus 24/7 have the worst trigger pull of any handgun on the market.

There are guns with WAY worse trigger pulls than either of those. The earliest Millennium and 24/7 pistols had stiff pulls (still not the worst by a decent margin), but any of them made in the last 5 years or so (the Millennium Pro and 24/7 Pro) have vastly improved trigger pulls. My brother's 24/7 Pro, measured with a Lyman trigger pull gauge, measures 10 lbs-6oz DA and 5lbs-2oz SA.

To the original poster:
Both guns (the S&W Sigma or Ruger SR9) are well made and very affordable. You could certainly do worse. I have several friends that have one or both of these, and they all function admirably.

If it were me, I'd hold each one and see which feels better. My only real beef with the SR9 is that I can't handle one without getting bit by the safety or the slide... but none of my friends experience this. I guess I'm weird.

I believe Ruger is updating the SR9 to have the same trigger and updates they gave the SR9C I recently bought the SR9C the trigger and everything about the gun so far is exceptional.

Hi,
Give some thought to a S&W second or third generation 9mm. Examples, 5906, 5903, 5904, 659, 3913,559,459,469 and 910. These are available in the used market at good prices. A lot of 5906s and 5903s were ex LE pistols. Personally, I have a 5903 and a Sigma SW40VE and have no complaints. Double actions are usually safer than single actions. Lots of choices.
Good luck,
