Sigma and Taurus 24/7 have the worst trigger pull of any handgun on the market.
There are guns with WAY worse trigger pulls than either of those. The earliest Millennium and 24/7 pistols had stiff pulls (still not the worst by a decent margin), but any of them made in the last 5 years or so (the Millennium Pro and 24/7 Pro) have vastly improved trigger pulls. My brother's 24/7 Pro, measured with a Lyman trigger pull gauge, measures 10 lbs-6oz DA and 5lbs-2oz SA.
To the original poster:
Both guns (the S&W Sigma or Ruger SR9) are well made and very affordable. You could certainly do worse. I have several friends that have one or both of these, and they all function admirably.
If it were me, I'd hold each one and see which feels better. My only real beef with the SR9 is that I can't handle one without getting bit by the safety or the slide... but none of my friends experience this. I guess I'm weird.
