rules for open carry in Louisiana

i was wondering what the rules for open carry were in louisiana . what are the guide lines .

I'm sure the other locals will have more for you, but the one thing I know about Louisiana is that though they have preemption, laws that were in place BEFORE preemption was passed are still valid.

So, you may need to pay attention to all the local laws in addition to state stuff.

The only time I see people open carry is around gun shows or packing open in a place of business typically a gun store.

Expect the cops to show up and question you. Seems more of a hassle then CCW not surprising since one is FREE and the other is $100 every couple years.

Eh, a few of my friends have gone open carry a few times and never had any problems other than being asked to leave a store. I was never that brave, though, just stuck to concealed.
