Life got in the way and my reloading equipment stayed stored in plastic totes for maybe 12-15 years. Was not climate controlled The urge has finally came back to load a few rounds. Powder and primers were kept inside in closet so no worries there. But some of my dies have rust inside and out. My Trim pro case trimmer is completely ceased have rust on several places on my presses. Any ideas on how to attack the rust. I figure I have a lot of fine sandpaper and polishing ahead of me. Would ultrasonic or brass tumblers work?

A Dremel and a polishing wheel or see if you can send the dies back to the manufacturer for polishing.
I polish my carbide 9mm and 45aarp dies about once a year and squirt the inside on all dies with clp when I put them away. Some how my 5.7x28 rcbs dies which got put up about 2011 when 5.7 ammo started to become cheap and plentiful got a squirt of wd40 got put up for 12 years and didn't rust.

Vapor Rust works very good at removing rust, will not harm the metal. Once the rust is gone use a drill to spin 600 grit sandpaper with oil to polish the inside of the dies.

On the press if its the ram. You can use oil and 0000 still wool. If that does not use the 600 grit sandpaper and a little oil using a shoe shine technique.

Big question: a light dusting of "sugar" rust or gone so far as to be pitted?
If it's just the light dusting, then go for the removal chemistries and polishing. If pitted, reach out to the manufacturers (and prepare to toss & replace).

I had a Hornady Custom die that got rusty. According to Hornady cs that slip of oxidizing paper in the die case is important.
They recommended Naval Jelly.
