There are many threads about shooting steel cased ammo, usually about Wolf ammo, but this report is about the new (at least to me) Sellior and Bellot 9x19 copper plated steel cased ammo. I bought 2 boxes of this to try as it is a bit cheaper than a lot of the brass cased ammo now after the continuing price increase we have seen this year.
In appearance it looks like regular brass cased ammo, if you weren't told what it was you'd never know. S&B calls it copper plated, but it looks like cartridge brass. It holds the usual 115 grain bullet found in inexpensive range ammo.
Shot 50 rounds in my Glock 19C with no problems at all. It seemed to be a bit on the warm side but I don't have any chrono data. It also seems accurate.
I think that it is a viable alternative range ammo and the fact that it is copper coated may eliminate problems seen with lacquered steel ammo.
