After months of frustrating unfruitful local search for my "ideal" 10mm, a used S&W 1006 (reputable brand and CS, all steel construction, full power 10mm capability, DA/SA) I decided to dip my toes in the internet ocean and I did some research on gunsamerica.com, gunbroker.com and auctionarms.com.
The few 1006 listed were way overpriced compared to the Blue Book, they had no bids except for one "suspicious" listing where there were several bids which I suspected were fake bids to pump up the price.
I tried to contact the sellers either by e-mail or phone to try to negotiate a reasonable price and what I got was pretty much a "I do not care to sell" attitude, "this is the price", "try your luck bidding", etc...
One particular pistol has been relisted 3 times (my bid at $600 was below the unpublished reserved price) with no other bids other than mine.
I have to say that so far I'm not impressed with this crowd and you know what?? It's not like is bread, I do not need to buy...but I'm surprised how unreasonable people are, I have better luck negotiating prices with local stores.
Regards
