Now that I'm retired and only wear dress clothes for funerals I've pretty much abandoned pocket carry. My last carry revolver was Smith & Wesson 340PD, which is the concealed hammer scandium J frame 357 magnum. It has the minor finish wear you would expect of a pocket gun but has hardly been fired at all.

It was quite pricy when I bought it and new ones now are selling for $1100. As I am aging and starting to think about what my widow will have to deal with after I'm gone I've decided to divest myself of several guns I know I really won't need anymore. How much should I ask for this gun? Gunbroker completed items has a used one that went for $511 but all the other used ones were $750 or more. Give that the buyer wouldn't be paying shipping or FFL fees on a FTF sale I'm thinking a bottom dollar price of $700 seems reasonable since I'm in no giant hurry. That's around 60% the price of a new one. Does that sound reasonable?

If it is the lock free version, and low mileage, FTF for basic inspection, take my money at 700. I should add that owning one myself, it is an excellent pocket gun for someone who understands the care and feeding of an ultra light-weight exotic materials J frame. I think $700 would move it fast.

New $1000. Used, new condition $800 retail. Dealer buy for $660 to low of $450.
Retail is $900-$950. I just checked. I reckon most would still rather pay the extra $100 to get one brand new. I know I would. The OP's has minor finish wear which will drop the used price more. If it's the lock version, the price gets even lower.

$750 is what I'd list it as. The buyer will almost always attempt to talk you down. I'll let them feel good about themselves and the deal they got by selling it at $725-$700. I always list slightly higher than what I'm will to take because buyers always want to talk you down from the listed price. Oh, if it's the version with the lock, might take longer to sell unless the OP dips into the lower $600s.

I've sold many times on Armslist and forum matket places.

Where are you seeing them for $900? Bud’s is at $1099 and they are usually the bottom end of retail.

Bud's rarely has the best price in my experience. I use a website called Gun.Deals. There are several venders who has them for $900 +/-.

The thing is, venders are not allowed per agreement to list the lower price, so they all list $1099.... There are multiple venders who have the 340PD from $897.97 to $959.99 online. They require you to enter in your email so that they can send a private quote that will add the discounted price to your cart. Some of these sites do not charge taxes for out of state venders as well.
