Im gun money poor right now so Im not even tempted  , but was browsing gunbroker and found this. I thought I would throw this out there for anybody interested. Its a 625 3 inch stainless with rosewood grips that can be found here: http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=28118348

Out of curiosity, is that a good price for a 3 inch? Ive seen the 4 inchs in the upper 400s, to the upper 500s, but have never seen a 3 inch on auction before.

That would be a good price for a NIB with all papers. This particular gun looks as if it has had all the laser engraved barrel markings buffed off. They originally had a bead-blasted finish as well.

I had one of these about 1990. Yeah, it had a bead blasted finish not buffed like that one. I bought mine new in box for about $325 and I think I sold it for about $400 in 1996 :banghead: I wish I still had it!

I never could understand S&W logic.

If you're going to put a full length underlug on the thing, then why in the heck not use a standard length ejector rod instead of the short one? :scrutiny:

That rod is full length. This revolver is in .45 ACP, not .45 Colt.

I think the price is a little high for a gun that's been messed with.I bought a 3" 625-7 in 45 colt that was NIB for $583.00 OTD just a couple weeks ago.

Glad to hear the price is high, while I might be gun money poor right now, it wont stay that way forever.

bpisler - the 45 colt you bought recently, did it come with nice aftermarket sights, or the stock s&W ones?

Sapperleader,it came with a red insert front sight and a black rear sight with a white outline, factory stuff from smith and wesson.

I mainly posted this for others, but do hope to get a 3 inch 625 some day. Those metrolight nightsights sound interesting, and I do like the rosewood grips. I wonder if the combo of those makes his price of 650 not as bad?
