Last night I picked up a smith and wesson on a whim. It is chambered in 45acp, marked 'performance center,' and I am 95% sure the price was spectacular.

That being said, I cannot figure out the details.

It is marked 625-7 behind the yoke. It has the 'performance center' markings on the barrel and frame. The serial number is JMR00XX. The first two letters make me think it is a Jerry Miculek model, but all the JM revolvers I can find start with JMP, not JMR. I also can't find any 625s that are Miculek AND performance center. The initials 'JM' are not anywhere else on the frame, as I have seen with other JM 625s.

It has an extended forcing cone and short cylinder. What did I buy?

ETA: Barrel length is 5.25"

From the Standard catalog of S&W:
625-6 Jerry Miculek Design for 2001. Limited run for Camfour Distributors in 2001. 5.25 inch barrel with interchangable gold beed patridge front sight, adjustable black rear, .45 ACP with a 6 shot fluted cylinder, hand honed bore, broach cut rifling, chamfered charge holes, satin stainless finish and hogue laminate combat grips. Performance Center lockable aluminum case. CJMxxxx serial range Product code 17016, average retail $899.
Your gun is mis-marked, the 625-6 is the .45ACP version, the 625-7 is the .45 Long Colt version. The Miculek gun was not chambered in Long Colt.
