S&W is overrated...

What point(s) am I not understanding?
how about when I said this?
I'm not saying that the gun is garbage, I'm not saying it's useless, or that it's bad. what I'm saying is that I purchased a gun that is supposed to fit in the same price bracket as most glocks, Springfield XD, Ruger SR, FN Herstal FNS, and Beretta PX4, service pistol lines, and it does not compare favorably to any of the competition in terms of fit, finish, and accuracy. believe it or not, my opinion of the M&P line has actually improved since purchasing this handgun, but I will not claim that it is the equal of other similarly priced handguns of different brands.
You just said that? On the internet? Sure you want to go on record with that statement, because that's pretty much a slam on all of us in blue, almost insulting...You really think we don't know any better? If you do think that, then I do have a more serious issue with you.
it's not a slam, it's a fact. being a former military man, you obviously went through basic training, and obviously went through the same "this is my rifle" spiel that all recruits have programmed into them. I've never been through POST myself, but I've done enough research to know it's basically the same process as basic, only with more emphasis on conflict resolution rather than target supression. I find it interesting that if all military and police can see through those sort of things, why so many of my brothers in arms chose to purchase the M9/92 when they were looking for a personal firearm, or why so many of the local sheriffs and city cops in my area buy glocks, or why so many of the tribal cops seem to buy M&Ps, all of which are the issue weapons of the respective organizations. you are taking personal offense based on the simple observation that soldiers and police are indoctrinated into feeling secure in the gear they are issued, this is a common fact and is in no way a unique or new concept.

I just won't let you come around and say an entire manufacturer's line is "over-rated"
so in other words, you intend to censor a public forum and bully another person into retracting their personally held beliefs because yours have more merit? the easiest way to lose an argument is to tell the other person that you won't allow them to speak and as you have made it abundantly clear, you feel my experience is not adequate to back up the claims I've made. you dear sir are a credentialist. it is the same people who insist that I don't know how to do my job because I don't have a bachelors degree just 8 years work experience. the same people in college who believe I am not capable of independent thought because I do not yet possess a masters degree and insist that I find references to back up my observations and abstract concepts.

dear lord. you will not allow me to come here? I've been here since 2011. you won't allow me to speak because even though I've laid hands on, and fired several, the only sample size that counts is the one I purchased? I've never seen anyone so angry over an opinion piece, and not only that, an unpublished opinion piece in a public forum. my opinion here has about as much power to influence as the guy who stands on the street corner with a "meat is murder" sign, and yours for that matter.

tahunua001, have you compared the model # to S&W web site? They have M&Ps that are heavy triggered for states requiring 10# (I think) trigger pull.
What STATE "requires" this, or are you referring to law enforcement agency requirements, like the NYPD's pathetic "New York Trigger"?

Summary of the Attorney General 940 CMR 16.00 et seq. regulations

The regulation is a manufacturing specification that requires at least the following:

Performance Test
Limits of Accuracy Test
Metallurgical Test
Drop Test
10 lb Trigger Pull
Hidden Serial Number
Loaded Round Indicator or Magazine Disconnect
Detailed Safety Briefing and Disclosures
Approved Lock (from Dealer)

I'm seeing that it's the Mass. compliant models (10 lb. & 10 rd.)
