S&W M&P “All Metal” Pistols

I guess that means computers, cell phones, clothing, shoes, appliances, etc will all disappear as well. 😁
An excellent point.
I'm looking at the big picture and who controls the supply chain. Probably a bit esoteric for THR.

To stay on topic - Tuesday I looked at and handled the Canik and S&W all metal offerings at the shooting range/gun store. We were doing a metal vs polymer exercise. I preferred the metal versions of both.

Thanks for the info that Canik has metal framed pistols. My nephew will be thrilled. He loves his Canik pistols. The last time we went to the range he commented that he wished Canik made metal frames.

What does “CTH” mean?

Steel frames are wonderful to use in competition and perhaps in the heat of battle as was my 1911a1 .
Aluminum frames are lighter to carry and can have great ergos and accept grip panels of ones choice. CZ and Earlier Sigs really are favorites for me , as are 1911 carry types .
Polymer really doesn't do much for me. I am into Sig P320 and 365 carry guns currently, but replaced all the factory frames with much better for me custom ones. They are great ergos AND THE BIG ADVANTAGE of Polymer frames that are engineered correctly as Glock pioneered is their RECOIL ABSORBING properties ! Their is absolutely no question in my mind that the esoteric engineering of the modern polymer framed guns give the sensation of less recoil that is far above the overall weight of the gun compared to heavier frames. With polymer you have the lightest possible carry weight with recoil sensations AND shooting performance of heavier weapons , up to quite a point . Sure my 48 .oz 9mm CZ Orange shoots slightly better than my 27 .oz P320 Sig even tho it is super smooth by Gray Guns . But I can EDC the P320 !

I want a steel gun that’s heavy. Like 40+ oz. I’m not buying it because I want to carry it, or because I just like steel for the looks, I’m buying it because I want a gun that has the modern sights and ergos of a modern gun, with the ability to soak up recoil of an old school all-steel tank. I wish manufacturers would embrace the weight, not try to split the difference and make their metal guns more svelte than they really need to be.
