Just bought a brand new M&P 9c, with safety.

Cleaned it, lubed it, and ran 123 rounds through it, 50 Blazer Brass 115 FMJ, 50 Rem. UMC 115 MC, and 23 Fed. Champion 115 FMJ RN. The ammo is inexpensive range stuff I bought at Walmart.

I'm happy to report that the new pistol functioned 100%. No failures or problems. I shot offhand at 7 and 15 yards and the groups were respectable, for me. I also shot a 6" plate dueling tree with good results at 15 yards.

I really couldn't tell any difference between the 3 brands of ammo.

The gun itself just plain works. Fit and finish were perfect. One of the reasons I got the Smith instead of a Glock was the trigger. The trigger is superb. It surprises me when it goes off. No grit, no grind. Just sort of think and it goes bang. Amazing. As a reloader I'm happy that the brass is ejected in like new condition. No dings.

I tried the two mags that came with the gun, one with finger extension and one without. And I tried a 17 rounder with the X-Grip Adapter. Lovely. All three mags functioned as designed. I did shoot the 17 rounder once as fast as I could through all 17. Not a hiccup.

Just finished field stripping, cleaning and lubing. Everything is normal.

I am really impressed. This is a great gun. And S&W is now running a $50 rebate on M&Ps for military. So the deal is even sweeter.

Glad to hear the X-Grips work well - mine are on the way. We just got my wife a M&P9c, also with manual safety (a big reason why we went with S&W). I'm trying to make it work for both of us while I decide what full-size 9mm I want for myself.

One of the dots on the sights popped off on the 2nd trip to the range. It's in the shop now getting some Tru-Dot's. I need to decide between a tac light or flashlight. Once it's set up we should have an extremely versatile platform - range, home defense and CC - if everything works as advertised.

I have an M&P9c as well and love it also. Interestingly, I have 4 full size M&P mags and one Xgrip. Three of my mags have a square on the bottom of the mag, where you push in to remove the floorplate. One of them has a circle. The three with the squares will not fully seat in the gun with the Xgrip on them (all seat fine with no Xgrip), the one with the circle works fine with it. I had read previously that the mags with circles are more desirerable, maybe there's something to that. I'm curious as to whether your full sized mag has a circle or square on the bottom.

The two 12 rounders that came with the gun have circles.

The 17 rounder I bought from Botach has a square, but it works just fine with the X-Grip adapter, I also got from Botach.

Have you tried fully loading them, inserting in the gun for a few days to give the springs a set?

My X-grip is mated to a square peg 17 rounder. Takes a good slap but it seats and feeds perfect. Love my little 4yo 9c.

I bought the M&P .40 w/safety and have the 2 stock magazines and 2 15 round with the x-grips so far 750 rounds fired after pulling it straight from the box no cleaning or lube yet! no problems at all. I just picked up a TLR-3 and a Custom Kydex holster for the gun+light and a double mag pouch and tomorow will be the first time carrying with the light and holster combo.

I got to try the new Tru-Dots and X-Grips tonight. The Dots are a little blah in the light but nice in the dark. I was surprised I shot better with the factory magazine extensions than with the X-Grips. I was closing the gap though, so maybe I'll be right there within a couple more trips.
