I recently ordered (from Midway) and installed a new slide stop assembly for my S&W M&P 9mm. The attached spring is substantially heavier than the old one. It also has a bright blue coating of some sort.
Problem: The magazine spring is (now) not stiff enough to activate the slide stop. If I remove the slide from the frame and shove an empty magazine in place, then it will activate the slide stop. But I insert an empty magazine and rack the slide (even slowly) , the mag spring doesn't have enough force to push the slide stop up. At all. As in, practically zero movement.
All magazines have the latest gray followers.
I'm planning to remove the spring from the old slide stop assembly and use it with the new slide stop. But I'm curious, has S&W resprung the gun since Revision N?
