S&W's most eye-appealing full-sized DA revolvers

I agree with @Bob Wright; the 5” barrel on an N frame is, to my eye, the perfect size. I think it balances nicely with the beefy cylinder and grip and isn’t unwieldy to tote or too bulky to hold and shoot for extended sessions at the range. :)

I had a 629 classic 5” that I (stupidly) sold off to fund a utv project. The utv is now long gone and I still regret selling that .44 to this day. Lesson learned! :(

The most amazing 5” N frame I have held belonged to my now-deceased friend, who was gifted it from his grandfather. It was a 4300-serial range .357 Registered Magnum, also with the 5” barrel and (If I recall right) a King reflecting front sight with a gold bead. It was his grandfather’s duty gun, he was a long-retired LAPD employee. I do not know what my friend’s family has done with that revolver after my friends passing, I truly hope one of the siblings still has it…and knows what it is they have.

Stay safe.

Model 27-2 3 1/2 inch barrel . A co-worker asked me to help her sell her deceased fathers 38 snub-nosed revolver. Imagine my surprise when I opened the zippered pouch.
