Looking for suggestions for a leather OWB holster for an SA-35.

Anyone carry an SA-35 AIWB?

I don't know if there is anything significantly different about the SA-35, but just about everybody that makes a leather holster, makes a leather holster for the Browning Hi-Power.

I could go on, and on, and on, etc., but I think you get the picture.

If you see a particular style you like, I could make other specific recommendations.

I do leather aiwb specific holsters quite often. Heres one i just finished for a customer left natural and using the ulticlipXL and an aluminum claw. It was made for commander size 1911. 20230412_110005.jpg

I have quite a bit of Mitch Rosen leather that I’ve carried for a long time. Included with the holsters is a tube of leather care and one of leather slicker.

For a P35, I have both owb pancake with an FBI forward can’t which is probably the most comfortable carry for the Browning. I also have an ISWB that works pretty well. You know you’ve had it on, but not bad.

Here is the pancake:

Fot the iwb, you’d have to pick out which iwb holster you like, and then have that made for the P-35 made.It is a lot of gun down in the pants, but it does work and work well.

iI like sweat guards and highly recommend their addition.

Interesting, since Mitch Rosen makes very few models with sweat shields. None of his OWB models are offered with a sweat shield (neither does Milt Sparks) and only one or two IWB models have that feature.

I'm not knocking Mitch Rosen, though, I'm with him as being not a fan of them, especially for OWB, it's just not a feature he typically offers.

However, if that's what the OP wants, there are lots of makers that offer that option.

I’ll go ahead and blast the elephant in the room… that’s kind of a hefty, large gun to carry AIWB… I take issue with a Zastava M70… let alone something the size of a BHP.

I apologize- I meant to say Don Hume, nor Rosen. Great value for the money. Sales going on for BHP.

Kydex may not be your best bet. And, not appendix carry for sure.

AIWB isn't my thing, but the guy behind Keepers Concealment typically carries a G34 or Beretta 92 AIWB in one of his holsters.

Gabe White, another well known proponent of AIWB is also a G34 guy. https://www.gabewhitetraining.com/uspsa-for-appendix-carriers/

I carried a BHP for a few years both IWB and OWB.

IWB I used:

I liked the double belt loops w/ dot snaps. Secure, pretty easy to get on and off, and you could split around a belt loop. Not too bad to carry IWB, but it was nice when I could use a pancake OTW.

I can’t imagine carrying a BHP in appendix carry. I’m not tall and that’s one reason. Another is that the safety on a Hi-Power is pretty easy to be moved off during carry - car seats, etc. I replaced the safety indent spring with a heavier one which helped, and I made sure sweat guards were molded around the safety as tightly as possible but still would find them “off” every now and then. Of course, that’s the object of having a holster that covers the trigger guard - protect the trigger. Still and all, not sure I’d want a P35 barrel pointed in the direction that an appendix carry would result in. Just saying …….

I've had good luck with Bianchi's version of the Askins Avenger holster, model number, 4L. Mine is ~ 10 yrs old and still a good CC choice. Retention is provided by a good tight, boned fit to the standard Hi Power, as well as a removeable leather strap that can be slipped over the hammer. The gun rides high on the waist belt, in my 4:00 position. A shirt tail or jacket/suit coat gives good concealment.

Here's some pics, front and back with my Browning Practical Hi Power holstered in the Avenger. It fits equally well with my Springfield SA-35. The third pic is another holster that I built for field carry where concealment is secondary, altho, by sliding it rearward, I find it easy to tuck into a jeans pocket and still allow a good draw movement. I have no pics, but the Avenger rides an inch or so higher, but is every bit as comfortable for all day carry. HTH's Rod

Mr Rodfac, who made the stocks on your Practical? Nice. I’ve got a set of Novic on mine. Wood looks much nicer.
