any one here using Saber Industries (Defence) ARs ? Any thing in particular to really like or not? Iv'e heard of that company but in my little town area we dont get to see much variation with makers.

Saber Defence was considered high quality stuff while it was in business. It was never clear exactly how high quality - maybe in the BCM / Daniel Defense range, maybe somewhat below.

As you may know they are closed permanently following a scandal. I would take one if the deal was good but shy away at an ordinary price.

i purchased a complete sabre defence competion deluxe upper from midway a while back and i think the quality is pretty good

Larry Vickers is on there and hes much more than just a trainer, so i doubt theyre on there selling anything. theres plenty of ex-military, LE, and men who stake their lives on a weapon working every day. theres a wealth of AR info on that site

Vickers is a trainer and also on Tac Tv... He advertises DD AR's... If you go on that website and post about any other AR than what they want you to have, you get blasted. Nothing but a bunch of egotistical *******s.

he pushes DD ARs because they are one of the better guns out there. and i dont think you will get blasted, at least i didnt when i started a discussion about my POS Bushmaster CarbonFiber. i recieved alotta great advice on how to make it a more reliable weapon. it never did earn my trust, so i sold it. when in the market for another i wasnt pushed into any single brand, i asked alotta questions, got alotta good answers and then made my own decision.

Yeah, they are all dealers or trainers trying to get your money for high priced AR's...

There are about half a dozen trainers and maybe 3 dealers on the site. Most of the posters over there are LE/MIL and know what they are talking about. There are also a lot of Reps from some of the higher quality manufactures.

You seem to have things backwards with the trainers. They don't use a particular brand because they get money for it. They used that brand first. Then the company came to them.

Those same people you are bashing have helped design some of the more popular firearms on the market right now like the M&P and HK45.

They also have forgotten more than most people will ever know.

I think you have missed the point of M4C. It isn't for "hey look at the new Stag I got". It is for people who take things more seriously. People who train and/or use their ARs to protect their life. If you want a more casual site then this one is just fine. But the goal over there isnt' the same.

Sabre Defence is no longer in business, but they made some really excellent rifles.
Too bad they are no longer in business, I just bought a Sabre upper and mated it with a Spikes lower and dropped a McCormick drop in trigger in it... haven't been to the range yet with it, waiting for decent weather to tune it in.

Sabre Defence made excellent rifles - they were ISO certified, meaning that they followed strict and specific manufacturing processes when building rifles. Sabre was under contract to the US military to supply machine gun barrels and other parts. The fit, finish and quality of components used in Sabre rifles is top shelf. I personally did a lot of research on Sabre Defence and I tried to find one before buying my current Colt. I stayed away because prices had not dropped on Sabre rifles after the company closed and I the thought of needing any kind of warranty work scared me off - in hind sight I should have bought the sabre instead of the colt.

i wouldn't hesitate to buy a sabre in nice shape.

I bought one of the Sabre Defense "Light Sabres" Been an absolute dream to shoot. The only trouble I had with it was the magazine release tab broke. It was a simple remove replace of a $5 part. Has been excellent ever since.

I recall reading a few reviews of their weapons that were not very impressive in the accuracy dept.

I must have an oddball then, would put it up against any factory rifle regardless of action type in the accuracy dept.

thanx for the replies folks, the rifle I'm looking at is reasonablely priced and close to what I'm looking for, seems like more + than -. So I guess I better go take a look at it.
