I normally shoot PRB, but somehow have ended up with a ton of .50 sabots. Have never had much luck with them in the rifles, but wonder how they'd do in a .50 Lyman Plains Pistol. It has a fast twist like the sabot shooters do, but may not reach the velocity needed to stabilise the longer bullets.

I have the pistol bullets to go with them, but some of the heavier ones have lead bullets that are quite long. Might have to substitute shorter and lighter pistol bullets that will stabilize.

Has anyone shot sabots in the Plains Pistol?

I tried REAL bullets in a Lyman GPP .50 cal The smaller REAL bullet shot ok, but couldn't get it to group very well at 25 yards, so I just stuck with RB.

I believe the rifling isn't fast enough for a conical in most cases.
Even with C&B revolvers, most shooters claim better accuracy with round balls.
