Found a new Saiga 20 gauge at a local shop for a couple of bills. I'd rather have a 12, but those are impossible to find. Should I spring for the 20, or hold out for a 12 once they start importing these guns again early next year (possibly at a higher price)?

Saigas should hit the warehouse in the next few days. Then it depends on US Customs. After that they will be shipping. The word now is mid-January.

I'm a Saiga distributor. I can't give you a final price yet, as I don't know exactly either, and the earlier prices I was given changed, so I want to hold off before I quote anybody anything.

For only $200, grab that sucker quick!!! I'm willing to bet the new ones won't be much south of $300, and maybe north of that figure. Don't forget that over the past eighteen months, the dollar has weakened against foreign currencies, and that makes importing foreign guns more expensive.

Yeah, I should probably snatch that sucker up. I had some free time today and called more than twenty gun stores. The upshot is that there are a total of three Saigas (.223, .410, and 20 guage) for sale in a one hundred mile radius of my home. The twelves are nonexistent.

It's a classic "bird in the hand worth two in the bush" situation. I would really prefer a 12 gauge and might be willing to wait for a newly imported one if the price wasn't too high. The "above $300" figure Preacherman cites corroborates with the rumors I've heard.

Of course, I could always get the 20 now and trade up later . . .

matter of opinion

personally i would avoid the saiga-20 because it uses 2 different mags for 2 3/4" and 3" shells. if you confuse the two, there is a possibility of the gun jamming. the saiga-12 on the other hand uses one mag for both length shells and will have the 10 round mags available @ 3 for $120 in january. id spend a little more and get the saiga-12 instead. laters

After some thought, I'll probably wait until the S12 becomes available again. But, it's killing me knowing that a cheap S20 is just a short drive away . . .

I'd get the 20. It is all you need---run down and get it, now!!!! Hurry! Pleazze!! It will also end your suffering!!.
