Hello I'm new this site but have a question to ask you guy's I recently purchased a Sako L 61 R 30-06 serial 22xxx the gun is in super condition it has authentic Sako ring's and mount's leupold 3.5-10x40 varix III scope on it my boss told me the gun is not a collector's peice and that it was a waste of money but he is a weatherby and steyr man. I am just curious if I wasted my money or if the gun is the jewel it seem's to be she is a very sweet shooter! Sako is bottom rifle in the pic. If you can give me a close est on it's value that would be great then I will tell what I paid for it.

30+ veiw's and no help guess this is not the right site either sorry guy's I'm just getting into the gun collecting scene I have always been a fisherman but it was time my collection to gain in value and not fall thus the reason for buying rifle's and pistol's.

Jeez, you posted at midnight and now it's 8 a.m. on the east coast. Do I get time to drink some coffee and wake up?

This job doesn't pay enough.

Sakos are fine rifles although I would not call one a "collector's piece."
But then the Internet Generation thinks that anything not in a current catalog is a "collector's piece."

Your boss is nuts, I would rather have a Sako than a Weatherby or a Steyr and maybe rather than a Weatherby AND a Steyr.

"If you can give me a close est on it's value that would be great then I will tell what I paid for it."

Sorry, I don't play Internet Price is Right. You paid what you paid and you have the merchandise. If you think you can flip it for a profit, good luck. Otherwise, go shooting or hunting.

Well said.

Most people here are interested in shooting, not expanding their 401k through gun collecting, so I doubt you'll find many wanting to talk shop about what guns to buy for future investment. Some guns do go up in value due to a combination of factors, but most stay the same considering inflation over the years.

The Sako is a fine, fine rifle. I like their smaller actions particularly. Go shoot it and have fun.

Sounds good thanks guys I put about 50 round's through it from 75 yrds to 250 yrds bout the average range of possible shots out here in central alabama the one litre bottles never stood a chance thinking of putting my 56 mm zeiss on her for the mildot i just need to buy a set of 30mm rings.

Not tryn to make money off the gun's just wanting a hobby that doesnt cost me constantly. I'm looking into reloading pistol and rifle ammo so I'm to see there is a section on here just for that.
