I have recently acquired an older savage rifle. I dont know its exact age but it is pre accutrigger. I am guessing it is the law enforcemant model of some kind because it has tactic etched on the bolt body. It has a black syn. stock with extra sling stud for bipod mounting. It has a 24" heavy bbl with 1-10 twist. Caliber is 308. I am guessing it is an loder LE model. It shoots wonderfully! What can anyone tell me about it?

Sounds like a Savage 10FP to me , at least that is the designation of the current tactical models.

I have the same rifle only I replaced the Savage stock with a Bell & Carlson Duramaxx one. Mine doesn't have the Accu-Trigger either and says "Tactic" on the bolt. Its a good shooter and the person I bought it from was a gunsmith and did some work on the trigger so I didn't have to.

Mine is in .223 (non-accutrigger with "tactical" marking) and it's a damn sweet shooter. I've only shot out to 200 yards with it and it's SCARY accurate!
