A local shop has a sxs Savage Mod. 550 and is asking $375 for the gun. It looks almost new with little evidence of ever being fired. They only things that worried me are it is very stiff to open and the lever to break the gun open sits fairly far to the right. It is stiff and you can see where it rubs on the top of the stock/pistol grip area. I know very little about SXS shotguns and have had little luck searching for info on this model. Is this a good deal, bad deal? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

oneounceload, thanks for responding! The lever being to the right is a good thing? How so? If thinking of a clock face, it sits about half way between 4 and 5 when the action is closed. I know I really am showing my ignorance now.

The lever being to the right means it has very little wear in the action as does the fact that it is still stiff to open (which will loosen with use). Rubbing the stock, well, they probably didn't fit the stock all that close, not surprising in an inexpensive SxS, but that doesn't affect how it shoots.
