Scams and Scam Sites - Please list here

Here is a really obvious scammer site. Please beware.

This one accepts only Venmo and ''any kind of crypto-currency'' with a 40% discount on all merchandise for doing so. 🙄🙄🙄 Besides only having a PO Box and no physical address or phone number for contact, their awkward use and phrasing of English is another sure sign that this one is best avoided.

Just how does one know if it's a scam site or not. I almost bought some powder from a couple of places but chickened out. I figured if my usual places didn't have it,why do these other places have it. ?
I know it’s been a while since you asked this question but it’s a good one and worth answering. Some red flags include:

  1. They don‘t take credit cards and only accept payment like Zelle, cryptocurrency or PayPal friends and family. All of these can’t be cancelled. Once the money is gone you’re not getting it back.
  2. Their contact information is an email form with no phone number or address listed.
  3. Engrish. Many scam sites are created overseas by non-native English speakers and have grammar or syntax issues.
  4. They have stuff nobody else has, and at prices that seem to good to be true.
1 and 2 are the biggest warnings to me. If you can’t pick up the phone and call them then it’s 100% a scam.

If there’s an address listed, plug it into Google Maps and see what pops up. If it’s legit it should be an actual store with that name. Most scams have an address that’s a single family home or even a vacant lot somewhere.

Good sleuthing folks. https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/reputability-of-warriorgunstore-com.922929/

No shipping and returns policy.
No payment options info page.
No "About Us" page.
This really bothers me:

They say they have locations in London, Ontario and Colorado (Not Denver, CO; not Pueblo, CO; not Boulder, CO; just Colorado) but their locations map shows Ontario-ish, London-ish, and the Philipenes?

You'd have to be very naive to think a can of Winchester 5.56 was reallllllly $5.99 ... even on "clearance", but someone could be tempted to pay that for a box of Crit Defense.

There have been a number of knife and gun scam sites posting up on FB and this is just another.

You are right about the English. Wait until AI kicks in. These things will be hard to detect.

I just want to point out that while #2, above, is generally accurate, one of my preferred ammo sellers (Sgammo) absolutely fits it. They have an email form, but no phone number or address listed on their website. As always, you should all proceed with caution. The list above is a pretty good collection of "red flags."

They misspelled “sports” in the title of their website. How could it possibly be legit?
But what if they really are "Tactical Shooting Spots?" I'd love to have a tactical shooting spot.

Maybe this was the right place to post this. OpticsPlanet is cancelling orders in order to raise prices right now. They even admitted it to me over the phone. AVOID

There was an add from ATN on Facebook , every aspect located legit , advertising their 4k sight for $299 . They said this was a flash sale to liquidate them as they were introducing a new model. It said that was all they were selling , the lower powered model as they were a liquidation vendor and price included ground shipping in conus. Only PayPal or Zelle payments were excepted. I have the higher powered 4 k and it works very well for my needs , so I pay paled them which was ATN/ Sofiamarketing. They sent me an invoice to my e mail instantly. When I started fine print reading their add , blown up I read their customer service number was " cat flea collar" alphanumeric ! So half an hour later demanded a cancellation and notified Pay Pal and Facebook and ATN of the scam sending all the fraudulent advertising and logos and web addresses . Well PayPal did a month dance with me filing all my stuff and the numerous attempts to contact ECT. Yesterday how ever PayPal did refund my $299 back to my bank. Never heard from Facebook marketplace people or ATN customer service. So be careful, If it looks too good to be true. It probably isn't.

I was surprised to find and 870p, so when that happens I'm always skeptical.

Looks good to me and isn't listed on the Scam Sites, but I always appreciate THR's input on matters such as this. Thanks.

A good site to see if the proposed purchase site is a scam or not: www.stopgunscams.com
Enter the site name and if they have in their data base, you'll know. Their database is constantly improving.

If the site you want to purchase is not listed, that is a good thing but, it may be new and not in their database. So here are some other things to check;

BIG Red Flags:
Are their prices REALLY good? If they are, be wary.
When you go to pay, do they take major credit cards? If they don't don't purchase from them.
If they only take: crypto currency or paypal knock-offs don't purchase from them.

If you are scammed, please report to Stopgunscams.com and post on this sight.

Did you buy from them? Google maps shows it to be a real physical business.

As far as I can tell, this is the genuine web page for Tikka firearms, and across the top there's a little banner offering 15% off for payment in cryptocurrency. Is this for real, or is it a fake web page?

It's a scam.

With approximately 30 seconds of looking, three giant red flags jump out.

First, no phone number or physical address on their "Contact" page.

Second, they accept only Zelle and crypto.

Third, the use of English on the website is somewhat awkward in a few places not to mention the fact that punctuation and capitalization is improper or non-existent.

I suppose that I could dig deeper, but I don't feel like wasting my time on a site that is already showing so many troubling issues.

Is Atlantic Tactical legit? It doesn't have a lot of the typical red flags but they have a product listed in stock that everyone else says is discontinued.
