Quick story for everyone.
A buddy of mine from my military days were going to get together and go golfing last Saturday. I didn't hear anything from him by late morning so I gave him a call on his cell phone. He didn't answer. I left him a voicemail and called back at around 4 pm. Still no answer. His wife was out of the state for the weekend. I called her cell phone and she told me that she hadn't heard from him all day. I called him again a 8pm and no answer. I started getting worried so I drove over to his house. When I got there, both of his trucks were in the driveway with the windows down. I noticed that the keys were on the seat in one of the trucks. I went up to the door and knocked. No answer. The lights were off but I noticed his wallet opened and empty on the table by the door. I checked and the door was open so I cracked it open and yelled his name. No response. His rottweiler came to the door and was whining and running in circles. At this point I am thinking something is really wrong here. I called his wife again and asked if she had heard from him. She said he went golfing with a buddy. I told her that I was the buddy and we never went golfing. She asked me to go in the house. I asked her if they owned any guns. She told me no. I knew they didn't but asked anyway. I went inside, still on the phone and yelled his name again. No response. I walked through the kitchen and into the garage and saw his golf clubs on the floor. I walked back in from the garage and yelled his name again. Still nothing. I was on my way out of the front door to call the police when I heard him yell from upstairs. He was ok. Turns out he didn't feel well and was sleeping.
Everything turned out ok. Maybe I'm a bit paranoid, but everything seemed out of place. I felt stupid for the whole thing. Looking back, I should have called the police and let them walk through the house.
Ahhhh...end of long boring story.
