Do any of you have a ritual for avoiding picking up scents while on the way to the hunting stand?
I don't usually get too wrapped up in worrying about scents, though I do keep my hunting clothes in a bag of leaves and pine needles when I'mnot wearing them, and I shower and use unscented soap before touching the clothes. I don't stop to fill my truck up with gas on the way out and I avoid smelly or spicy foods on hunting days.
This morning on the way home from work, I happened to stop at a drive up ATM machine to withdraw some cash. I punched in my numbers and noticed a smell. I sniffed my fingers and could smell woman's perfume on them. The person who used the machine before me must have had some perfume on her fingers and it transferred to my fingers when I punched the buttons. I thought that if I had done this on the way to my deer stand, it would have ruined my entire day.
