This knife is slightly larger than a Buck 110.It states on the blade:
uncle henry in script
schrade +
L88 or L86 usa

It has plastic stag grips.Came with a tan sheath.
I bought it at Price Club in the early 90s.I can't remember what I paid for it.Maybe 40 or 50 bucks?

So what do I have here?

I don't know about the newer Schrades but the older ones are good knives. An Uncle Henry I bought 20 years ago is what goes with me to the woods. It has a wood handle & brass bolsters.

Probably an LB8 (lock back) With a "staglon" handle. I like schrades, have one over 30 years old. Can you post a pic?

That's one of the first knives I bought for myself. They were excellent knives back then.

I have one of the Old Timers with the high carbon steel blade & the staglon handle. I think folks quit buying them because everyone started wanting shiny stainless blades but that carbon steel blade sure does hold an edge well.

Yes, it says LB8 on the blade.I currently don't have a digicam,so no pics.Anyone know what grade of stainless steel is in the blade?

HSO,Yep,it looks like that.No box tho.Mine came in a blister pack.I got the same sheath too.

A google search indicates that Schrade+ was originally 440C, changed to 440A, then changed again to 420HC just before Schrade USA went bankrupt. If your knife was made in the early 90's it was either 440A or 420HC; I didn't investigate as to when the changes in steels occurred. I haven't bought any Schrade product since the company was reorganized and the manufacturing moved to China.
