I'm looking for an inexpensive scope to put on a new Marlin Model 60. Plan to use for groundhogs and general plinking.

Some requirements/wishes:

1) relatively inexpensive (I'd like to stay around $50; $100 max)
2) variable power (3-9)
3) Made in USA, or at least Japan (basically, "not china")

I liked the looks of this scope, but Bushnell tells me it's made in China......

Appreciate the recommendations.

Does not compute.

I'm sorry to say that for the specified price range, you will not find a scope that will meet criteria #3.

you might be able to turn up a used Leupold or Burris for just a bit more than your listed price range, and you'll be very pleased that you did

Tasco World Class 3x9. Mil Dot. Maybe a little over 50 bucks. Under 100 dollars whatever you get will be from China.

look for a simmons, top of the line. should be made with american , and european parts, assembled in china. I am trying to think, Now meade telescopes bought out several scope companies, including, simmons, and redfield, and burris , I think. Only one of them is made totally in america or europe, and not assembled in china. Otherwise, try to find a old weaver scope, , if not, a Bushnell banner or a dusk/dawn series, though parts made in america /europe, are assembled in china. Also try millet scopes, they may be 100 percent american. otherwise go nikon or pentax, or go to a gunshow, and find some old tasco or bushnell glass, made in japan.
