I mounted a Nikon Monarch 4x16x42 on my Browning X Bolt in 30-06 using this setup http://www.dnzproducts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=66_56&products_id=394 If the scope was slipping each time the gun was fired, which way would the scope slide inside the rings forward or rearward. I think I had a slight bit of oil on the scope when I mounted it don't ask me how. Anyway, what can I use to remove all traces of oil from my scope and rings so I can re mount it. I have a little Gun Scrubber synthetic safe type with the grey cap but, is this too strong for the scope or ring finish. sure would appreciate all advice about what I could use instead. Thanks!
