New Wby Wilderness in 240 Wby.
I have choice of MeoPro 3.5-10 weighing 16 oz or an Athlon Midas 4.5-27 weighing 28 oz with illuminated SFP reticle I really like.

Go.

I have no skin in the game with either Meopta or Athlon. I prefer Meopta from reputation (a very narrow worldview, so take this with a grain of salt). I would hope @LoonWulf would chime in, as I believe he has experience with both brands.

My Meopros still waiting to be shipped lol.
I do own a bunch of Athlons and like them, optically I think my Ares and the Midas HMR I ordered and installed for a good friend (which is supposed to have second gen glass, before the second gens released) beat out my Zeiss hd5.

I just looked up specs on the Wilderness, as i remember @army_eod mentioning it was a lighter gun, and all the vanguards and howas Ive had were bricks.

So...... both scopes would work well within the design and function of the cartridge, just at two different ends of the usage spectrum because of form factor and weight.Il

I would prefer more top end (say 14-18) on a .240wby, the meopro has plenty of magnification to take full advantage of its point and click velocity. That extra velocity will also help with distance holds within reason. The only .240 i shot was used with 95gr balistic tips and sighted dead on at 300. You could hold just high on a 6" plate at 4 and get solid hits with little issue.
Soooo imo it should do everything that a hunting rifle would need.

While the Athlon offers a fantastic power range, and probably does a bit better in low light because of the bigger objective (both my gen 1 midas and gen 2 argos 50s beat my 42mm zeiss in low light). The reticle and turrets will also give you an advantage at ranges beyond point and click.
On the down side the size and weight of the thing completely offset the advantages of buying a light trim Vanguard.

Personally (and I basically had to make this decision when i bought my Christensen...it was Midas BTR vs Leupood VX-3I) I would go with the meopro, just because its fits the rifle better.
