Searching for Smith Corona

I am searching for a Smith Corona 1903-A3. Serial number 481464x. The gun was sold to a gun store in late 2001 early 2002 in the capital district of NY. The gun store has since closed and I have been to every gun store in 100 miles. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Do you know if it was all original military trim, or was it sporterized?

at the time it was sold it was original.

It likely still is, with the price of original condition guns compared to sporterized ones.

Tmf1911, if you haven't done so, try to find the owner of the shop that bought the rifle. He probably still has his log book which could lead you to the person who purchased the rifle. You have a difficult task. I wish you well.

I believe records and bound books are supposed to be either given to another FFL holder or to the ATF if an FFL dealer goes out of business.
