Other than a conversion to shoot cheaper 9mm Luger in a .40 or .357 SIG model, what do these do that the factory barrel doesn't?

i see no point in an aftermarket barrel for m&p's. they are already accurate and capable of firing lead rounds safely.

A five inch 357 is not available from the factory.

i see no point in an aftermarket barrel for m&p's. they are already accurate and capable of firing lead rounds safely.

Threaded bbl for a suppressor, for one.

Caliber changes for another (as mentioned above). I don't do 'em , but some people do.

there's a market for glock grip plugs and FLGR's for 1911's too, but that doesn't mean they're necessary

that's true, i was just thinking that Bar-Sto doesn't usually introduce many useless things...otherwise they'd be marketing those FLGRs
