With great pride and a growing sense of relief and joy, I'm privileged to be able to say that I'll be moving to the free state of NH in the not too distant future. :)

One of the exciting opportunities this brings is easy access to several training facilities. I'd like to (1) get a decent inventory of the trainers and classes available and (2) hear from anyone who's taken training from any NH facilities/trainers in the past to hear what you thought. A Google search shows a handful of places, most well-known among them being Sig Sauer Academy. What the google results lack are credible reviews, especially for the smaller trainers, and that's where I'm hoping someone might have experiences to share.

About my skill level: I haven't actually dropped a trigger on a live round in a long while, but my safety habits have not suffered and I've lawfully carried concealed in MA nearly everyday with habitual draw/draw fire practice at home. I've been a back-of-the-front-of-the-pack IDPA shooter in the past and before getting out of the military had above-average proficiency both on a square range and in more dynamic environments with a pistol and carbine. I intend to invest several hours of time alone on a square range refocusing on the basics to the knock the rust off. After that, I anticipate (for class selection purposes) being at what most trainers would consider an intermediate level with a pistol.

Areas of desired focus:

• General, intermediate-level, fighting handgun courses.

• While I wouldn't rule them out if they are components of a larger course, room clearing and other tactics that are generally offensive in nature is something I have sufficient background with. Ideally seeking more CCW/SD type training.

• Classes that focus on shooting from vehicles or other more "real world" training beyond the basics. Especially interested in something that exposes and improves on weaknesses we as shooters may not be immediately aware of--shooting while moving, low light, from odd positions, etc.

• While I'm comfortable with basic operations, I've also never had formal training with my HD shotgun and would be interested in filling that void if anyone has a lead on an appropriate trainer/course.
