Post your full name, address and telephone number here and go to google groups and post it in all the MLM groups.

I did not give them permission to give my information to anyone else. I don't deal with any business that sells information I provide to them. If I wanted that information public I'd subscribe to the Direct Marketing Associations 'feature' of opting in to targeted ads. I'd subscribe to the new free phone service that will listen to your conversations and flash up ads on the PC, etc. etc. etc.

I did not mean to imply the NRA was the culprit. The NRA sold off lapsed members information a while back. Someone got a sweet list of gun owners to target. I wouldn't know if they still do that.

No need to provide further documentation for what I was describing. Your thought process is clear enough and you have friends who share that thinking, so you should be happy.

But you are very frustrated, you're tired of being pushed around, and you're not going to take it anymore. I saw the movie.

Junk Mail ??

Junk mail is cool.....
Really oddball companies and neat stuff.
98% of my x-mas shopping is from mail order cataogs.
Personal info needs more info befor it's scammed/stolen.
Heavy duty shredder and a large trash can take care of the unwanted stuff.

What chaps my ass is the spam that hits my in box. When you look at the header info, the too field is either blank or some other person that is on the same ISP that I'm on. I have replaced my delete key several times.

Oh hell, my rant is over. I will go and eat worms now.:cuss:

I like to take the free offer/enrollment form/survey/whatever, mark it NO! NEVER! with a big marker, stuff it into the return postage paid envelope, and mail it back. heck, sometimes I even fold up the envelope it came in and stuff it in as well. Make them pay the postage and get no joy when they open it..

For the life of me, I cannot discover what this has to do with guns, besides the fact that the NRA may be involved in info selling.

Closed.

Mike

PS For those of you worried about private info getting out there (as am I), what you do is this:

Get a PO Box, or a box at a UPS store (they can be listed as "Apartment" and not "Box"), and have all of your business correspondence go there. That's what I do. It doesn't solve all problems, but it at least doesn't broadcast your home address far and wide.
