Labrat- You picked up a CaliFal? Nice! I'd be in but I'm going to be in Sacramento meeting The Girl's™ parents. We may do some shooting while there - check it; they're both ex-military from Texas. I think I'm in love!

Yes, I'm alive.
Yes, I want to come shoot with y'all.
Yes, I still have a bunch of (neglected) toys.

I'll be watching... hopefully weather will cooperate after these months of rain!

Here's my new toy! I hope the madkiwi and I can join you next weekend. :D

Sunday

Gunner, what f*&^ does salient mean? Is it that stuff they put on contacts? Your a trip dude.:D

Sunday is the best day. the 7th. that gives everybody time. And my daughter is in a play sat, so i would be rushed, annoyed.

See SWEN, Dont get married. Your welcome, stevo.............

QBG! Labrat! Kiwi! You are all still here! Phew... I was worried I'd return and find that people had signatures like "moved to NV so I can have a Beta C mag in my AR" line. Big relief you are still here.

Sunday after this one, lets do eeeeet!

Yeah! Where have you been? Lots of new toys since we've seen you last.

Sunday the 7th sounds good! See you all there. Maybe we can get HeyPete to bring the 1919.

Steve-OOOOOOOO!

Salient: outstanding, relevant, damn skippy.

Sunday Sunday SUNDAY!

Sounds like a solid action plan. Looking forward to seeing ya'll again. Think the tin can range will be dried out or should I bring my mudders?

Sunday 7th of May sounds good. I'll see if I can get a couple of friends together too.

Any idea what time we'll show up?

Do they take cash only, or plastic? How much does it cost?

What food/drinks/supplies should we bring?

Meet at the tin can range?

Barring any unforseen circumstances, I'll be there.

And so will Mr. Browning's Amazing Shooting Machine:

Oooooooh Pete got his 1919. Super Double Happy Fun!

And Pete brings up a good point:

BBQ? If we do, I'm definitely heading up earlier to start the fire; those coals took FOREVER last time to get going.

Labrat: That's gorgeous! Looks like a stripper clip guide in the dust cover, is that right? That's so much better than breakin' the thing open every time.

edit: Pete, for the love of whatever- get a solid mount for that thing! Tell me that's not a Mk II 10% Post Consumer Compressed Fiber Board Tactical Mount I see?

They open at 9AM, range fee is $13. I've never used plastic there, but I recall at least a Visa logo at the counter.

I can bring the BBQ and coals again, but I'll leave the ignition up to someone more skilled. :)

Oh, wait...Los Altos has that big BBQ pit, so bringing the little hibachi probably isn't necessary.

As for the mount, you're absolutely right about me needing a solid mount. I'm looking at building one out of wood from Home Depot, then nailing rubber feet onto the bottom of it. I already have the 1/2" bolt, nut, and locking washers that are sufficient enough to go through the gun and two 2x4s on either side of it. Alas, a lack of money, time, and so forth precludes me from doing that.

Oh, and the cardboard box is for catching brass and links. You can see the wood blocks and sandbags fore and aft that support the gun itself.

I can't afford the "real" tripods which run about $500+, so I'm stuck with a homebrew solution.

Pete, as QBG brought up...it took forever to get the coals going. Unless it's a pain in the ass for you to bring it, the little Weber will make for faster and easier cooking.

Whose bringing what? (I'm refering to food, not guns :D )

I'll bring some soda and bockwurst, maybe make my bro buy a bag o' chips.

Not a problem. I'll bring the little Weber, but it only holds like 4 hamburgers at any given time. About 4-5 bockwursts, depending on size.

I'll bring the BBQ and the charcoal, and maybe a box (12 cans) of Diet Cherry Coke (I normally don't drink diet, but I'm trying to lose weight and every bit counts). I might bring some hotdogs and buns if I remember, but otherwise am hoping the bringing of the BBQ means I can collect a small portion of the food cooked on it as tax.

On a gunny-related note, I have several (maybe 3-5, I don't remember exactly) bricks of Federal American Eagle .22LR that hasn't been working all that great out of my 10/22 (it prefers Remington bulk-pack over the Fed bulk-pack). If anyone wants to buy it, I'd be willing to bring a bunch and sell it at a fair price.

Also, I called the range and they accept Visa and MasterCard only. No Discover or American Express. This means I'll definitely be there, as I've been stashing money away in the bank, but don't ever have cash.

For gunny stuff, I'll probably end up bringing the 10/22, the M1919, and maybe something else...my budget's been running thin, and my ammo stocks are low.
