That's only one style. Another is using the Velcro strips (cards) but it's more expensive as you buy a set with the backing that goes on the receiver and then buy some more. As the one on the receiver is emptied it pulled off and another from a belt mounted or chest rig and slapped on the receiver.
He covers it around the 4:40 time mark.



Of course there's always shell holder slings and/or bandoleers.

I have this one that I like. Mine is for 12 gauge -- I can't tell for sure if this one at the link is for 12 or 16 gauge. It's comfortable and secure, but quiet and quick to open (no ripping velcro).
