I need to ship a rifle for warranty work. Should I remove the scope before I ship it?

Is the scope part of the warranty work? If not remove ALL accessories - scope, rings; mounts, sling, etc. - if for nothing else, they will add weight which will add to shipping cost. Secondly, you are taking a chance your scope won't get damaged in shipping.........

This is good advice.

When i had to send back 2 rifles with scopes, I was told to take the scope, rings and sling i had on them off and what ever else i had on the rifle.

I would take everything off. You will need the proper tools for the screws. Keep everything in the exact same position as it is on the rifle. Put it together loosely in the proper configuration. When it goes back on the rifle it will be very close to the same POI. I have never had "warranty" work on a rifle. Will they fix this one or exchange it?
