Do you like it better than the Crosshair?Try Kynshot hydraulic buffer tube.
Dunno...only one I've tried.Do you like it better than the Crosshair?
This.just from a practical standpoint, with that brace, your only saving about 2" over a simple 18' barrel, and giving up the flexibility of a stock. Is it really worth the effort?
I have a Remington 870 TAC-14 12 gauge. With its 14" barrel it measures right at 26.3" overall length. I usually load it with reduced recoil #00 buck or the mini loads with buckshot. I've fired a few boxes of #02 birdshot through it for an easier handling load. I have a Savage 20 gauge SXS with 18 1/2" barrel that nests on the back of our headboard. I've been considering swapping it out for the TAC-14.
This.
Spending $160 to make a Mossberg Shockwave or Rem 870 TAC14 LESS CONCEALABLE is illogical.
Spending $160 on a Shockwave "brace"
vs
Spending $200 on a Form 1 SBS (approved in 3-6 weeks) where you can assemble with any type stock/brace/PGO as you wish.
or a Title I shotgun with 18"bbl and a folding or collapsible stock.
14" bbl on a Mossberg Shockwave MUST maintain an OAL of 26" or more.....if it has an arm brace that folds its OAL is measured in the folded position.
vs
18" bbl on a Title I shotgun that can have a folding stock and an OAL of less than 26".....because that stock can be measured in the OPEN position.
or any length bbl on an SBS with folding stock/standard stock/PGO/arm brace.
In short, if you value compactness, get an SBS.
If you value comfort in shooting, get an SBS or Title I shotgun.
If you intend to conceal your firearm on the person be aware of how that affects the legal standing of a "firearm" such as the Mossberg Shockwave or Remington TAC14.
You already did when you filled out the Form 4473.Or, get this, I’ll leave my shockwave setup exactly how it is because I like it, it works well, and I don’t like asking big brother for permission

Then maybe public discussion boards aren't for you...... I’ll never understand why some have to push their idea as the only right way on here.
We gave you some brainier alternatives and now you decide you don't really want those questions addressed.Anyways, what are your thoughts on why the braced shockwave isn’t more popular? Seems to be a no brainer alternative to a SBS.
That was my first thought. I have a blade on a Ruger Charger and I can only imagine how uncomfortable 12g recoil would be.Recoil, plain and simple. Especially with that KAK on there, it can't be fun to shoot. As much as I like pumps for HD, were I to go this route it would be a Remington Tac-13 semi auto with the GG&G brace. That would bring the recoil down to tolerable levels. Finances are what is keeping me from doing so currently. That and I have a perfectly good Ithaca 37 for HD use.
