Shooting Stretch Armstrong

:what: I wasn’t expecting that! I wonder how well the material melts so it can be molded into flat slabs for homemade vests?

Imagine the Russians have invaded (think Red Dawn style) and you're gearing up for a firefight. You look over at your squad mates and seeing one in a suit made entirely of Stretch Armstrongs . . .
I would rock it!

A friend had one of the originals back in the 70's. Beat it up then decided to set it on fire with liter fluid and throw it up in the air.................................................... Landed on his roof in the rain gutter and started the shingles on fire. Roof had no damage. My friend.................:uhoh:
lol! way off topic but have to tell. my brother didn’t want to wait for fireplace fire, so he decided to use gasoline….. let it soak, light, BOOM! shook the whole house

My brother and I got one each for christmas one year. Neither lasted a week. But, then again, if you gave him a bowling ball he'd break it and I'd take mine apart to see how it worked.

And I want a full body suit made with kevlar and stretch armstrong goo.

I ate mine. My mom says poison control told her it was just corn syrup. Yeah, I was that kind of window-licker.

If those are vintage stretch armstrongs thats probably a thousand dollars worth of toys.

Some kids have tied them around their necks as a necklace and choked themselves out! Making a vest out of them might look a bit strange, though.

Don't "normally" watch these videos but this one was fun!:)

Amazing really!

Stretch Armstrong is made of latex rubber filled with a proprietary gelled substance similar to corn syrup, which allows it to retain shape for a short time before shrinking to its original shape.

I had a G.I. Joe electronic, motorized tank. We put a target on it, mounted on a wooden dowel. We would sit across the yard with our BB guns and shoot the target while it plowed through the yard. Actually improved my accuracy.
Oh... then we poured gas on it and melted it.

Glad I found out what Stretch Armstrong was made out of. That guy on the video didn't reveal the secret but I had no idea they were so tough. Quite entertaining and thanks for posting it. The only part I found distasteful was the table & truck abuse at the end, ( but it had me laughing, anyway). I have no idea what Stretch Armstrong's are worth nowadays, but I'd like to see the cost per round price on 700 Nitro Express.
