I'm in the market for a new pistol, it's been too long since I've bought a new one outright, and that bothers me. However, I don't want a poly gun, I want something with either a steel or alum frame in 9 or .45. I require DA/SA preferred with decocker, but as long as it's DA/SA, it's ok. I don't want any slide mounted safeties, all the controls must be on the frame. I was thinking of the following:
CZ-75B or BD
CZ P-01
SIG P228
SIG P220 (old, no rail, I hate rails added after the fact)
I want something with some weight to it, and I don't like super compact pistols, but the P228 speaks for itself, and the P-01 has a reputation that proceeds it. I like the CZ-75b for several reasons (look, steel, capacity, weight), but am unsure if it's not-quite-as-good as the P-01, as this is to be a carry pistol, reliability and durability are of the utmost. I'd like a pistol that can eat a stead diet of warm ammunition, and has a following of aftermarket parts and a design that lets me detail strip and potentially replace parts if needed. I know these sound like ridiculous requirements, but I want a pistol that will last me the rest of my natural life, even if it's got replacement parts in it. Forgot to mention, I love my FNP9-M, but I'd like something just slightly taller. Right now, my pinky rests on the magazine, which is fine and all, but I have to move my finger when reloading or I get a pinch from hell. A quarter inch longer grip would be perfect.
Pics are of COURSE welcome.
