I like the Hoque Over molded stocks but the LOP is too long for me by about 2". Does anyone have any experience in shortening these?

As I understand it you cannot reglue the recoil pad back on as there is no adhesive that will stick to it which begs the question how did Hogue put it on in the first place.

Thanks guys.

In desperation I called Hogue and found out the stock can only be shortened about 1". The recoil pad is screwed on. Also the recoil pad is apparently hollow as they told me it wouldn't take sanding.

I asked them to consider making stocks with spacers on them for the kids, women and guys like me with short necks. I was told they would write it down.

I was also told they will shorten stock for you for $85.00.

kind of looks like I need to be concentrating on getting wood stock but I really like the feel of the Overmolded, just not the length.

you can always cut it down and put a slip on recoil pad on it

I can't imagine why you couldn't cut it off, rough up the interior with a sanding drum, and set a wood block filler in the cavity with Acra-Glas or Gorrila Glue.

Then sand flush with the stock and screw the pad back on.

If you had too, you could screw the filler block in with very small flush head screws all the way around.

Might even be kinda cool looking, in a steam punk sort of way!!

RC beat me to it. I have epoxied wood inserts into several hollow plastic stocks to have a place to screw a pad.
