Took a few guns to the range, some to test out, so I just like shooting, and some to rule out.
Working my way up:
38S&W through a new-to-me old-timey S&W "Perfected." Fun little gun. Got em all in the black, but need a lot more trigger time (at 5 or 7 yards) to put 'em in the 9 ring. Itty bitty sights but a decent trigger.
32acp: through two guns. A new-to-me Beretta 1935. Wow, does an 11 pound trigger make shooting a challenge. I didn't have the patience today to spend a bunch of time to master it. Now I gotta find out how to make the trigger something less than suitable for a gorilla. Then a CZ 70. That was sweet compared to the Beretta. Much better trigger and much better target.
380 through a just factory-repaired Taurus 58s. Ugh. All over the target and this one is trade fodder. (I got it cheap, now I know why.) Then a Beretta 85...now that's a 380. Not as good as my EZ Shield but pretty good.
Finally 9mm: Always run a few mags of my regular carry, a S&W Chief's Special 9mm. All in the X-ring at 10 yards (okay, almost all...well more than half...errr, some?) and a Beretta Cougar and that's a tack driver. Super trigger, not a lot of recoil, lots of weight to absorb the recoil.
Pretty nice session and a great excuse to go back to master the Perfected and 1935.
