Very nice!
I take it you've familiarized yourself with the special ammo requirements of the gas system?
As @NIGHTLORD40K points out, it's not "soft" so much as specific. The ideal ammo produces a "bolt speed" of under 20fps. Which wants fast powders, and, generally, nothing much heavier than the 167 SMK.that it requires a softer loading.
Right, more to do with the burning weight of the powder, and the weight of the bullet. Not so much "softer" as a relatively fast burning powder and relatively light bullet. A Shuster vented gas plug is a good upgrade which will allow for the use of more commercial off-shelf ammo without damaging the op-rod.
Yes. It would not hurt my feelings if I was left in the danger zone with my M1 instead of my AK or M16 Clone. (semi-auto, for you creepy lawyers listening out there) But you hear so much, from so many about how it is obsolete and can't compete with a short and stubby AR with doo-dads hanging all over it. I suppose in a shooting contest it might not win. But I also suppose I would not want to get in a fight with my AR or AK against somebody armed with the M1.If i were to be cast out into an uncertain world of danger I would want an M1 on my shoulder.
The M1 is the perfect one-shot-one-kill rifle. It is accurate out to 500 yards. Neither the AK or the M16 match that. The 30-o6 cartridge is much more barrier blind than the 7.62 of 556. In a fight at a distance the M1 rules. In CQB it’s a toss up.Yes. It would not hurt my feelings if I was left in the danger zone with my M1 instead of my AK or M16 Clone. In CQB it may come down more to the skill or expertise, or lack of, of the shooters. And of course in a contest the contest can be tailored to give either one the advantage. I don't want to be on the wrong end of a M1 for any reason. !!!The M1 is the perfect one-shot-one-kill rifle. It is accurate out to 500 yards. Neither the AK or the M16 match that. This. 30-06 is stupid powerful. Like shooting the sand in front of our redneck range looks like a claymore went off lol.The M1 is the perfect one-shot-one-kill rifle. It is accurate out to 500 yards.
