I just mounted a Bushnell Banner 4X32 Shotgun Scope on my win 94 AE .30-30. It is parallax adjusted for 50 yards, although I will be sighting it in for a 100 yard zero. With a 1 piece tube & clear optics, I think the banner was a steal @ $64.99.

Am I going to be able to get decent 100 yrd groups with this set up? This rifle was shooting 1.5 MOA with the previous scope & I am hoping to get the same with this new optic.

I'm sure you'll be fine...most rifle scopes are parallax adjusted for 100 yards and a lot of people shoot far further than that

AFAIK, the only other difference is they might be built a little stronger to stand up to turkey loads

It'll work fine for hunting purposes.

The parallax issue would come into play if you were target shooting with a supremely accurate rifle AND you could not get an exact identical cheek weld on each shot as the apparent center would shift slightly.

At typical 30/30 groups sizes it will be meaningless.

Further then what it is set at isn't the issue.
Closer then what it is set at is.

But parallax in a 4x scope at 100 yards would be so insignificant as to be meaningless.

Up it to 10x or 15x, then you got a real problem.

I've been using shotgun scopes for years now on my hunting guns.

They work great, have more eye relief.

I like the diamond reticles, makes for a quicker sight picture.

Paralax is a non issue.

That's what I had hoped to hear. I have very little invested in this gun, picked it up non-firing for $100; put in a new firing pin & it was good to go. Since it is the least desirable 94 (early 2000's, birch, crossbolt, AE, lousy trigger) I am relegating it to frequent abuse. It should see hard use as a front-seat quick-grab pig getter. The circle-X reticle seems about perfect for trotting-pig acquisition.

Update: got the new scope sighted in today; this 94 has never shot better. It peppered a nice center 7 round 100 yard group around 2.5" across. I really like the circle -X for quick target acquisition. Happy so far.
